Although I work in many other materials I get my greatest inspiration from working with wood, particularly green wood. I have now built up contacts with Park Rangers, Tree Surgeons and Dealers in Timber. Much of my recent work has been done in and with local schools, museums, Bankside Open Spaces Trust and other community groups.
Starting in 2006 I was commissioned to make original greenwood features for the Pines Calyx Centre near Dover. (This new centre has been built using sustainable building methods). This commission includes indoor and outside lighting features, newel posts, an air vent 'disguised' as a sculptural feature, and a lectern.
In 2006 and 2007 I was involved in works and features for the new Tate Modern Community Garden. My contributions have included planters, some benches, an arch/pergola, and the shelter.Below is a utube video of my 'Shelter' for the Earth Art Exhibit at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Ontario, Canada/Summer 2008
