‘Have spade, will plant’

Creative tree planting projects a speciality. This can be a project based around one tree, or many, and new or existing woodlands, orchards, or arboretums, for instance.

Jane Spray has a background in landscape design, community horticulture, and landscape and environmental sculpture. She helps create growing and evolving artworks, which are not separate from their environment. She has qualifications both in landscape architecture and in ceramics, with an MA in Art in Architecture.

Has worked on many different scales and in different contexts over the years, with a wide range of people and organisations, e.g. community and voluntary groups, charities, schools, local authorities, NHS and Groundwork Trusts.

The work is concerned with Nature and growth, process, time and change. Jane works in response to, and as a reflexive part of, the impact of human beings on this planet. Responsive to people, places, communities and environments, be they urban or rural, or buildings, public spaces, gardens, woods, rivers, mountains or the sea.

Interested in investigating the interactions and inter-relationships between Nature and human nature. Welcomes collaborations with scientists, artists, community and environmental organisations and others.
