Using bronze, stone, steel and wood, Dilys Jackson explores land and plant structures and their kinaesthetic relationship to the forms and processes of the human body or to the specific site of the of the work. She also uses brick, wood and natural materials to make installations relating to the environment and to environmental concerns. Her imagery derives from the landscapes and flora of Wales, Britain, the Middle East, Iceland, Canada, Australia and America Public works may be seen in village centres in the Garw Valley and Betws, the Ogmore Valley Community Route and The Stackpole Centre

As an Environmental Artist, Dilys Jackson works with clients, landscape architects and educationists on projects involving children and adults in the design and production of paving, railings, seating and other public permanent features to enhance local environments. 

She leads workshops in community, school and and outdoor settings producing temporary and site specific works using re-cycled and environmentally sustainable materials.

She is presently working in a consultative capacity for Groundwork Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot and has undertaken artists’ residencies in a variety of settings.

Dilys Jackson trained in the UK at the Slade School of Fine Art University College London, Swansea College of Art, the Open University and the Faculty of Art, University of Wales Institute Cardiff.

She has exhibited in the UK, Europe, Ukraine, and Sweden, and has work in collections in the UK, Europe, Canada and America. 

Her awards include an Arts Council of Wales Master class in the MB Foundry and a Leighton Studios Fellowship in Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada.

Her commissions include the Copper Mill Millennium Sculpture, Flint and the Stackpole Centre Sight Garden, Dyfed.
